Was curious to what you guys of thought of a GI Index diet versus Atkins Diet? Pros & Cons of both? Even though I know Atkins uses GI index as a tool working in conjunction with a low carb diet.

    Re: GI Index

I think it would be harder to lose weight on a GI index diet. The books that I have read really make you lose by reducing calories as well as using the index - I much prefer to reduce the carbs. I think the GI index and the GL (load) are great tools though.

      Re: GI Index

I did GI when I was nursing my daughter (Atkins recommends LM when pregnant or nursing) and I liked it. I did lose some weight - not a lot as I have a wheat intolerance and I was eating more wheat than is really good for me - which made me have all kinds of other health complications.
A friend has done it for a while- she is happy with it.
