  • I fooled myself and am discouraged now

    When I started on the 1st, I put my weight down at what I weighed when I went to the doctor. Today I bought a scale and weigh 2.6 pounds more than I did then...I was hoping to see a weight loss. I have been told that people can see that I have lose inches (in my face and inches) so I must have weighed more or maybe the new scale I bought is different than my doctors office. At any rate, I am updating my ticker.

    At least I have a benchmark with the new scale...will only use the scale I bought to determine weight loss....

    Don't worry too much...I have been known to vary 5-7 lbs on different scales. And you're right...at least you can use your new scales as a baseline! Congrats on the visual difference people are seeing in you

      I think I might have to do the same. I'm going to buy a new scale ~ a digital one so it's plain as day what the number is. It's too hard to read the one with the dial. It's good you have a baseline at home now. You can't go to the doctor every day!

      FYI - Your ticker's numbers seem off as of this post...

          You should be able to see it if you're looking at this thread. It says this at the bottom of your ticker...

          236.6 lb lost 165 lb below target weight

            Can I ask a question without being rude or ditzey? Does that mean you have lost 236 pounds and have 160 something to go? If so I am amazed and good for you, well good for you on any weight loss.
            But I really have alot to lose and right now at this point it just seems unatainable! So I was just curious if that was how much you lost or what you weigh and 160 something was your goal?
