  • measuring verses weighing food

I know that we are allowed 3 cups of salad veggies per day, but is it ok to weigh out the food that you are eating and plugging in the amount to figure out how many carbs the item has?

I have been doing this since I started back in induction. I found that it is a lot easier than measuring out the food and since fitday.com will allow you to change the measuring type, I think it would be more accurate. The scale is digital so I feel it is pretty accurate. I measure everything in grams.

Does anybody else have any thoughts on this?

    Re: measuring verses weighing food

Ever since i started dieting (first with WW) i always use the scale to measure food. I find that when i pull out the measuring cup or spoons i tend to try to push in a bit extra, u know what i mean. but with the scale, i have to be honest with myself about what amount i'm eating.

i bought a kitchen digital scale for about $50 and it is probably THE most helpful tool yet.
