Re: whats the secret to a whooshie
A whooshie is a sudden drop of (water) weight of a couple of pounds or more
Horseradish is meant to be the main thing and I have also heard celery is good and mustard too. There is a recipe for whooshie pie in the recipes and it does seem to work!

Re: whats the secret to a whooshie
Many will disagree with me on this one, but while some foods might work better on Atkins than others (eating 5 g of carbs from veggies helps more than eating 5 g of carbs from mayo, spices, cream, etc.), I don't believe in stuff like whooshie foods. There's something called a whooshie pie, but I believe it just causes your body to get rid of a little more water (it has diuretic ingredients like horseradish)... thus the drop on the scale. If you are in this for the long run and not for dieting to lose 25-50-100 lbs, then what you need to care about is fat, not water, and inches, not pounds. Sure, it is very encouraging to see the scale go down (and don't get me wrong, I weigh daily and I do my chicken dance every time I'm down a pound), but I saw people who lost a bunch of weight without losing inches and people who lost very little weight, but a lot of inches. I only envy the latter.
There's no magic food or pill that will repair what years of bad eating have broken. If something like this would exist, we'll all be thin and happy, eating ice cream one day and whooshie pie the next."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: whats the secret to a whooshie
I don't recommend this method but last week I had the stomach flu. I couldn't keep anything down (including water) for 3 days. Lost 8 pounds.
Again, not recommended

Re: whats the secret to a whooshie
Georgiana is right... the horseradish (and certain other foods) whooshie is really water weight, nice though it is to see... and encouraging.
As for the whooshie fairy... that's another matter! She comes! Oh boy does she come! But... only to those who truly believe!!!
