Is it normal not to lose anything the 3rd week of extended induction? I have a couple friends who have done atkins before who say when they tried to do it the 2nd time it didn't work for them?

not true. I have started atkins before for a 2nd time and lost the same as the first time. However, if you expect to keep going on and off induction for fast weight loss, you obviously won't lose as fast since most of what is lost the first phase is water weight. This helps your body get ready to burn all the fat.

      ^ true story.

I've started over on atkins probably 25 times. Always lose weight.

        Re: is this completely normal

Many people find that after 2 weeks of losing on induction their body seems to take a break from losing pounds for a week or so befoere getting going again. However sometimes they ARE losing inches, so do measure so you can tell!!

Some people talk of the 'post induction stall syndrome' (you can work out the acronym for this yourself ) too.

Extending your induction beyond the first 14 days does not always mean increased losses, so for many of us it is better to move on the the main weightloss phase of Atkins (ongoing weightloss/OWL) and not staying on induction for long periods.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Okay, well I think I may have this problem too. The reason I say I think is that I'm in my 3rd and have stalled as well, but I am also constipated, and also it is about my time of the month, so it could be one it could be all three but I haven't budged in a week. I was starting to get really frustrated and after reading that others are having the same problem, I feel much better and motivated to get past this.
I WILL learn to feel comfortable in my own body again!

Also I haven't went on and off of induction, I just had my fourth child 4 months ago and I've done Atkins induction one time prior to getting pregnant. The difference is the first time I stayed on extended induction for over 3 months. So I'm not going on and off I'm just starting again post pregnancy.

I did Atkins two years ago. The first 4 weeks, I lost 9 lbs. The second month, I only lost 2 pounds for that whole month. I stuck with it, and in fits and jerks, the rest of the weight came off.
I ended up losing 30 lbs in 6 months.
