Re: Not tell people you do Atkins to avoid the hassle?

Everyone in my immediate family knows that I'm on Atkins, they have all been on it off and on since the Dr. Atkins published his book for the first time in the seventies. I usually tell others that I have food sensitivities, which is true, and that I need to avoid simple carbohydrates and sugar. No one has been too negative since I clearly look better than when I started this WOE.

I cant tell anybody because I brought it up before starting it and they said I would be mad to do it! But I actually think it is healthier than my old diet based on sweets, bread and low fat processed foods.

People just stick their nose in and want to judge you. I think they are just jealous

So, I haven't even told my mom that I am doing Atkins... I came home last night and found 3 pounds of hamburger I had cooked for taco salads, totally mixed with white rice.... she added it so my kids could have rice and beef burritos....

I should have guessed that she would do something like that.
