Dreamfields pastas taste very good, as close I think to real pasta as you are going to get with a l/c substitute.

HOWEVER please note that you can't have them until rung 9 of OWL, the grains rung.

I only ate them once i got to maintenance and actually counted all of the carbs in them too since I wasn't too convinced on the science behind the carb counts.

I only bought them once and never have had them since I finished the boxes. They no longer sell them in the grocery store here..but I really find that I don't miss pasta as much as i'd thought I was going too. And on the very rare occasion in maintenance that I do have pasta, I'll have a small serving of a whole grain pasta instead. Since I was counting all of the carbs for dremfields it works out the same anyway.

      Re: Dreamfields pasta

I have dreamfields occasionally, but only a half portion (with extra sauce!! ). It's by far the best of the l/c pasta substitutes, but as Sadie says, is for the grains rung of OWL.

I like to sometimes beat an egg, add a tablespoon of ground almonds (nut rung) and as I'm in maintenance a teaspoon of something like carbquik (which can be omitted, no prob). I cook the egg in a non-stick pan... like a crepe. As thin as you can get it. Then roll it up and cut into slivers, like tagliatelle. Makes a reasonable base for a pasta sauce, even though it isn't like real pasta. Imho, it's better than the "veggie slivers" alternative.

I don't see why you couldn't maybe substitute the ground almonds with something like flaxseed, if in induction (and if you need the flax - otherwise it isn't legal), but haven't tried this.
