  • hi guys,i need help?

    hi guys,my first post im starting the atkins tomoro and would really like a little bit of guidance?!
    iv been on the atkins before and lost a stone in around 9 days,but soon got bored and ended up putting it all back on and more,i dont think i was sensible and saw it as a quick fix!
    this time around i really would like to make it more of a lifestyle change,as i remember feeling so much more active when on the atkins,the main problem i have is i work full time,so iv been eating lots of food full of carbs because its quick!so now im going to start the atkins what the **** do i eat?cold sausages and bacon?cold egg?tuna?cheese chunks lol i really dont no what i could have for lunch without feeling disapointed? does anyone else have this problem?what do you eat when your at work and cant prepare and cook food from fresh,also as i would be on induction what would i eat on a typical day?is it okay to just eat cheese,eggs,bacon,sausages?beef?and not much else?someone please help? thanks for whoever replies!XXX

    I don't have much help for ya, but i do however experience the same things! What's really bad for me is i'm an emotional eater and work in a bakery. I have access to all the goodies and trying to cut back on carbs like this makes me feel deprived and it's making me go nuts and eat even more carbs! I've been trying to "start" the atkins for weeks now, and haven't had success because i'm under so much pressure and stress at work and financially. I can't afford all the foods neccessary to eat "right". I can however afford the eggs, bacon, chicken leg qtrs...but the problem is, i don't want that. I'd rather have burger king or spaghetti or pizza. This is so aggrivating. So..don't feel alone cause you're not! I need someone to tell me no cause i just don't have the self discipline neccessary for any weight loss prgm. I was on weight watchers and lost thirty pounds. I was able to maintain for almost a year, but then when i switched jobs, the stress was unbearable and i've gained twenty of those thirty back! And am now under a lot of financial stress and can't afford to eat like i need to for weight watchers. That's why i decided to do atkins...i can afford the cheaper meats and eggs. But like u, i'm clueless as far as lunch is concerned. I tried just skipping lunch all together but that didn't work out!....sorry to vent all this onto you lol. Hope u get the answers and advice you seek. If i get any i'll pass it on. Thanks.

      Hi Blossom,
      Here are some places to look for meals to TAKE with you for lunch and or Snacks.
      I usually have left overs from the night before to take with me the next day when i'm out and about.
      Salads are always a safe option aswell. On Induction the majority of your carb intake should be coming from veggies.
      Do you have DANDR 2002? That is the book we go by here.

      You can, but make sure you're getting in you 2 cups of salad veggies off of the salad list and 1 cup off of the other veggie list.
      Here's what is allowed during Induction-What foods can be eaten on Induction?
      That ought to get you started . Planning is everything on this woe (way of eating). Plan, plan, plan!

        This is a real problem. Some folks take a little icebox with them for their lunch and that way they can take salads and snacks. We have a restaurant where I volunteer and when they don't have anything I can eat, I go to the grill and get a hamburger patty. or the salad bar. But a little icebox or thermal lunch bags can keep foods cold and thermos can keep soup hot.
        I do a lot of cooking on Sundays so I have leftovers to take during the week
