Hiya and welcome, well this may help....

Question 1: I always chew on Orbitz Gum, even though it says it has one carb as well, it is from Sugar Alcohol, so it won't affect your blood sugar levels. That dosn't mean that we can gorge ourselves on sugar free candy that has tons of sugar alcohol in it, but carbs from sugar alcohol has not been a problem for me for weight loss at all. Oh and I chew about 5 pieces a day. So usually you take minus carbs comeing from Sugar Alcohol.

Question 2: After you have you URL for your ticker, just highlite it and click "copy", then go to "User CP" up here on your left hand side of the ADBB, and click on "Edit Signature", then paste your ticker URL there in the window. Then "preview" your signature to make sure it turned out, then "save ".

Question 3: I think your doing great! 8 lbs in the first five days are awesome!! Way to go! If you want to know more info on the Metabolic Resistence issues, look in DR A's book. He has a chart about how much you lose, and how long...and if your "normal".

      1. Chewing gum is empty food. It has no nutritional value and if you choose to have it it's either because you need something sweet or because you are "addicted" to it. If you are looking for a dessert, there are things more nutritious, healthy and tastier than chewing gum. If chewing gum is just a bad habit, then I would advise you to ditch it. On Atkins, we are supposed to learn a healthy, nutritious way of eating... and chewing gum is not part of it. Besides, while not everyone is stalled by sugar alcohols, some people are. Are you sure the chewing gum is worth the risk of losing less?

      3. The table you are looking for is on page 158 of DANDR (if you have the US edition published by AVON). However, you will have to wait until the end of the 14 days to determine your level of metabolic resistance.
