  • I'm new...help!

    Hello-

I started on Sunday, January 25th and I am wondering when I'll stop feeling exhausted? Also, I'd like some opinions on the taste of Atkins bread mix, shakes, bars, and peanut butter cups. When people label their weight loss in three parts, what part of the "diet" were they in? For example: 200/150/130....what does that middle number mean?

    Thank you!

    Hi Mel,

    Congrats on getting starting!

I felt pretty tired for the first 4 or 5 days (3 and 4 were the worst) but after that started to feel an increase in energy.

    Starting Weight/Current Weight/Goal Weight

    Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Can I ask when you started? We are a similar size and I'm trying to assess how long it might take to reach my goal.

      Thanks!!

Sure. I started on January 12th, but I did cheat once and drank a "few" glasses of wine one night. : )

Now that I'm into week three, it's getting easier and easier to resist temptation and like I said, my energy levels have improved so exercising is becoming a lot easier to force myself into. lol. The best motivation is the difference that just 9 lbs has made in the way my clothes fit!!

Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you have any more questions or just need some support - I'm doing this without the buddy system so I log on when I need a little motivation.

I think the bars and shakes and stuff are pure junk and shouldn't be eaten by any human ever.
There are many posts on this site about it, but they generally cause all kinds of problems and were never meant to be used ccording to Dr A. These are frankenfoods that were developed after his death. Full of chemicals and sugar alcohols.

Also, these products should never be used during induction.

You'll probably feel tired and out of sorts until your body completely switches over to burning fat for energy instead of glucose. You need different enzymes for digesting and utilizing fats and proteins than you do to do the same with carbohydrates.

The cleaner you eat, the quicker it will happen. You should not even be thinking about bars, shakes, bread mix, etc., until you are out of induction and on the right rung. No matter what Atkins the junk food company says about those products being used for induction, they are not induction friendly.

                Hi-

I emailed you a couple of days ago and just realized you may not have known who it was. I didn't sign my name. How is it going for you? I think it's going well for me. My pants feel a little roomier already. I'm not going to weigh myself until I'm past the 14 day mark.

To whom is this addressed? Several people responded to your questions.

Congrats on your pants getting baggy! The best feeling in the world is when a pair of previously tight pants fall off when they are zipped and buttoned!

                    Hi Mel
I just realised your second question hasn't yet been responded to

200/150/130 means that the member started Atkins weighing 200 pounds, their current weight is 150 pounds and they hope to get down to 130 pounds.

Some people add abbreviations like SW (start weight) CW (current weight and GW (goal weight) to the numbers.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
