Re: sugar in bacon
Key = study not just the numbers per serving next to listed nutrition label lines, but also the actual ingredients and serving size.
The label can say 0 g per serving if the actual amount is .49 g per serving.
Under 1/2 of a measure is allowed to be rounded down (to the nearest whole number).
Watch for this too- lets say common product x, common serving size, has .51 g carbs - merchant would rather say 0 than 1, if it is trying to sell to carb watchers. So, brand gets packaged with below normal serving size and Voila! It suddenly gets 0g carbs per serving on the label...

Re: sugar in bacon
We live a million miles apart but I found one brand in a little grocery chain that WallyWorld doesn't carry. The brand name is Field. It's nice finding something that's not slathered in sugar! No sugar added is on the package. Went to WalMart yesterday for groceries and their bacon selection was a nightmare. I'll have to shop both
stores from now on. Not happy about that but in the long run, it will be worth it.

Re: sugar in bacon
When I first started following this WOE (a good 5 years ago, now) I search out the bacon available in our neck of the woods that had the least amount of carbs (mine says 1 for 2 slices)... with sugar listed as the last ingredient item. I'ved used this brand ever since with NO problems. I'm just sure to log the carbs (if it says 0 and lists sugar, I always count 1).
My opinion... if you can get no-sugar added, great. If you can't, go by the nutritional information and count a minimum of 1 carb per slice (or serving size listed). I really can't see it affecting you negatively on this fantastic plan.Tangotori (Vickie)
