  • Marie's Salad Dressing.

I am wondering if Marie's Caesar or the other dressings are allowed on this diet. I have been using them for a while now because the label says only 1g per total tbsp and 0 for sugar. But as you read down the ingredients it states.

ingredients: Soybean oil, water, sour cream (cultured cream, nonfat milk, nonfat dry milk, rennet), whole eggs, romano cheese (pasteurized part-skim milk, cheese culture, salt, rennet), distilled vinegar, contains less then 2% of cultured buttermilk, salt, garlic juice, spices, natural flavors (milk) sugar, onion juice, lemon juice concentrate, anchovy, defatted soy flour, molasses, high fructose corn syrup, onion, garlic, tamarind concentrate, xantham gum.

I can ignore the sugar and the molasses (both not allowed on Atkins) or the soy flour (not allowed until you reach the legumes rung)... but high fructose corn syrup??? That thing is a health hazard!

Here is something Tom posted a few days ago:

Long answer short, the Marie's Caesar dressing is not allowed on Atkins. I'm not sure what are the other dressings you are referring to, but always check the ingredients.

Does anybody know of other Marie Salad dressings that may be acceptable? They all seam to have different ingredients in them. Some seem okay to me.

There isn't any sugar in the ingredients?

I got this from their website. It didn't list ingredients, but based on this nutritional info it looks to be induction legal.

That was a pretty cool site. Interesting that his final version of Marie's recipe had no sugar at all.

Sorry, I just looked again. no sugar at all. I was looking at the Hellmanns mayo ingredients that had the trace sugar.

So, there ya go. Eat it up. In my opinion it's the best for dipping Buffalo Wings & Celery. Yum!

Sorry, where's the sugar in that? There's no added sugar in the dressing.

                    Yep... Ignore this.
