I notice there is sugar in a lot of lettuce. Is there any that are safe?

Re: Lettuce
The sugar in lettuce is there naturally as it is in all veggies. It's okay. That also why all veggies have some carbs. The reason that onions, tomatoes and so on are on the "other veggie" list, is because they have more natural sugar. It's added table sugars, fructose, corn syrup, dextrose, etc., that you have to watch out for.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

sorry to bring back an old thread.... im still a bit confused about the net carbs of veggies (whether from the 'salad veggies' or the 'other veggies' list). okay, i understand that i have to be mindful of the other stuff like cheese, sugar substitute, and others that has carbs that i have to count. but HOW MUCH is the net carbs of say, for example, 3 cups of lettuce? because i need to make sure i make 20 net carbs a day. because it will just be useless if i am so careful in counting the net carbs of my splenda, cheese, sour cream, etc....when all along, i am exceeding the 20 (or maybe i am "under 20) because of my veggies.... i hope you get what i mean?? how about 1 cup of spinach and 2 cups lettuce -- how much is its net carbs? hope someone could enlighten me before it gets too late. thanks so much!!!

Re: Lettuce
You can go to the source that most carb counters utilise which lists many foods and their nutritional composition.
If you would prefer a website that you can log your foods in to keep a track of your daily intake there is www.fitday.com which many of us use. It also has the benefit of being able to track your weight etc.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
