  • I'm confused

I have been an Atkins follower for several years.
I'm on induction to try to lose a few pounds. I have the Atkins books and go to the site often. I was shocked to read in one of the posts that ceam cheese was not allowed ... horrors!! I've been eating smoked salmon wraps (recipe from Atkins site) ... believing I was following the induction rules. Am I wrong??

I think that you are good. Just keep it to your 3 oz cheese intake limit. Even if I am wrong, I am certain you are not blowin it. Good luck!

Under cheeses, we are allowed 3 to 4 ounces of full-fat, aged cheeses, of which cream cheese is one. I didn't even like cream cheese when I started Atkins three years ago, now I don't know how I got along without it. It's the perfect fatty snack to kill hunger and stop cravings.

            Re: I'm confused

Thank you to everyone who responded.
I am really happy to see so many people still following the low carb lifestyle.
Like a lot of you, I always hear people tell me they cannot believe I follow Atkins... none of these people have read the books or understood the Atkins approach. I am happy to report that when I was at my largest (164 pounds) among other problems, such as high blood pessure, my colestrol levels went up. I did not want to go on any more meds ... my Doctor recommended I go on Atkins. He said he really didn't understand how it worked, but it worked. Bless his heart. I am also not taking any meds for high blood pressure ... how great is that?
Thank you again and I find this site very motivational for me.

              Nice to meet you Sharon.
How wonderful that you have a doctor who recommended the diet to you. Hopefully there will be more like that out there
