I posted this question in my journal but I thought I would post it here so more people could potentially read this and maybe answer my question, thanks!

I have a question for someone who had a lot of weight to lose. I have lost fat from every part of my body, even my earlobes! However, on my anterior (front) abdomen, I have not lost anything. I have lost from my back, and from my sides and would have a shapely waist except for the huge pad of fat that looks like it was pasted on. I can feel the sides of my waist on my sides and then smack down my midsection in the center is the fat pad. It is hindering me moving down pant sizes comfortably. will this ever go away? or is this the last bit of fat to move off the body? I have a good two handfuls of fat/skin in my baby pouch. that is getting smaller(used to be about 4 handfuls, but it is above that that hasn't changed at all. I am happy with my weight loss but am beginning to wonder if the fat pad will ever go away. It doesn't even look like it belongs there because the sides of my waist are curvy again.... I am usually very positive but getting a wee bit discouraged with the fat pad...

    Re: abdominal fat

I think belly fat is the last to go, and some folks just go get a tummy tuck when its all over.

I have the same problem with my "gut" and "love handles". Welcome to the wonderful world of genetics. Its the old rule; first on, last off. I guess we will have to be patient. Good luck!

          MommaRuthie,
I soooo want to make you feel better. I'm right where you are. I can tell I'm losing there. I just lost a lot of other places first. However, I KNOW that area will always be a problem area for me NO MATTER WHAT!! If it makes you feel any better, I have one child....only one on purpose. He weighed almost 14 pounds at birth. Vaginal birth...they waited too long for a c-section and told me the baby wasn't that big, I was a first time mom, I didn't know my own body, blah, blah, blah. Well, h*ll yes, I did know my own body and we were both in distress and could have died. BTW, no gestastional diabetes, that was the first thing they started sticking us for.

I weighed about what I weigh now when I got pregnant. I was 20 and knew I should talk to a nutritionist. I did. What a mistake. Granted, at 12 weeks pregnant I had a car accident with a back injury that resulted in little body movement for me for the duration of the pregnany, BUT the night before I had my son I weighed about 279. In fairness, the placenta was as big as he was. I was swollen with fluid from scalp to my toes.

I put off even attempting to get fit for years because of this d*mn baby pouch. I alway thought no matter how small I got, the pouch with the huge dimple right in the middle, would ALWAYS BE THERE. Guess what? It still is. It probably will be 30 or 40 pounds down from now. The rest of me though, is beginning to look sexy again. I entered the abs challenge for February because I knew I had to start trying to build my abs and burn the fat that surrounds them.

Don't give up yet!! It's an area we have to work extra hard on. It's our "problem area." I can't give you much more without seeing your stats in your signature. How far away are you from goal? Feeling discouraged is just a bump in the road for you. It's a test. Who is going to win this one? YOU are. Hang in there. We'll trade in our badge of honor for a badge of...hmm, we're hotttt!

Momma....I'm just where you are. Seems like that's the last place to go. Wasn't true my first time around, sure is this time. But it will eventually come off, because sooner or later, there will be no other place for it to come from Perseverance!!!
