"Oh but it's so unhealthy, all that fat and greasy fried food"
Cause, you know, we deep fry everything before eating it. Isn't that the Atkins way?!Steph - Age: 24 yrs - Height: 5'4" - Original Weight: 170 lbs - Current Weight: 155 lbs - Goal Weight: 120 lbs - STAC

Oh the recent one was great...."So, are you still following that diet or did you give up? I see you're eating real food again like beans, corn, broccoli and cheese...." I simply just said no, I'm not following any "diet"....just a way of eating

ummm, i don't think what i eat is anyone else's business so it is not a topic of conversation and if it was, what anyone else says wouldn't matter to me anyway because i know what i know, just like the rest of you do. i am sure i have heard plenty of stupid/rude comments.....but apparently they did not register in the gray matter since i can't bring any to mind. in one ear and out the other as mama used to say!

here's a rude comment. my trainer's buddy was at the barn the other day (60+yo guy). he commented that i look like i'm losing weight, and i said i am and thanked him for noticing. joking around, i said, "yeah, [my trainer] said i'm too big and fat to ride horses!" and the guy looks me right in the face and goes, "well, you are!" mind you, this guy doesn't even ride...

Re: What is the most enraging/rude comment...
yeah, people are too low-fat brainwashed. I get so irritated if anyone gives me crap about what I'm eating! I generally say I'm avoiding grains and sugars if anyone asks if I'm doing atkins. if they say GRAINS ARE SO GOOD FOR YOU or something to that effect, I just say I feel crappy when I eat them, and they're too starchy. both of which are true.
two of my sisters went for blood testing as part of a fitness challenge. my sister who follows atkins most of the time has super high good cholesterol, low bad cholesterol, and good blood pressure. our carb loving, margarine eating sister had elevated cholesterol, but high bad cholesterol. and she watches her fat, whereas the two of us eat lots of fat. interesting, hmm?the big atkins re-start on july 14/08...
