  • Can Anyone Recommend a Scale?

We have a digital scale that is just about to drive me crazy. It's not very precise, and multiple weighings can yield very different results, high or low.

Yesterday, it weighed me 20lbs less than my previous day's weight.

I'd like something that's not terribly expensive, but good quality, precise and accurate.

BDawg, I had a digital scale like that.

I replaced it with a $29.00 Health-0-Meter from Walmart. Before you step on it, you touch it lightly with your foot. It then calibrates itself and when it is ready, it reads 0.00. Then you can step on it and it is steady as a rock and does not jump around.

They have come a long way with the digital scales. Just don't buy the cheapest. My sister has one -- another brand -- that cost the same as mine, and she is delighted with hers, too.

Thanks! I'll check that one out. Mine allows itself to be re-zeroed too. You can re-zero it 3 times and still get 3 different weights. It's (generally) accurate, but not precise.

I have a Thinner Digital scale. I rarely rezero it, and it's really accurate. Which is really annoying... I will weigh, get in the shower, get out, dry off and reweigh (thinking that I must have washed off at *least* .1lbs of grime) and it's exactly the same.

Do newer scales measure to tenths? Mine only does half pounds.

umm.. maybe mine is every .2lbs. I've had it for probably about 5 years.

Re: Can Anyone Recommend a Scale?

Thank you for the recommendations, everyone. I looked at the Health O Meters, but ended up buying this scale at Amazon. It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but it and its black counterpart were very well reviewed.

As a follow-up, the new scale arrived today and is great. I weighed 3 times and it varied by .2lbs!
