  • Alcohol Questions

    I'm currently in the induction phase of the diet. I know I cannot drink what so ever during this stage. Is there a stage that alcohol is allowed ? I'm young and am enjoying the college life. It's something I can limit but won't give up at this age. Also I'm going to Cancun in May so it will be nearly impossible not to drink.

    Another question about my Cancun trip. I paid way too much money not to completely enjoy myself. Not eating any carbs (or drinking) while I'm there probably won't happen. What should I do about this ? Should I go back on induction when I get home ? I only have 15-25 pounds to lose, once I meet my goal weight should I slowly increase my carbs so I don't gain all my weight back while on vacation ?

    During On-Going Weight Loss phase, alcohol is re-introduced into one's diet if desired.

    If you follow the Atkins plan as outlined in the book, you will be increasing your carbs during your weight loss and by the time you have reached goal, you will be eating more carbs than 20 net carbs daily.

    I suggest you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 ed before continuing further with this diet. There are MANY misconceptions and lies about Atkins. One of them being that the Induction Phase is the entire Atkins diet

    So please read the book and understand how to do this diet properly and safely, doing so will only benefit you and your health in the long run.
