  • Help!!

Ok so I have been on Atkins since Dec. 1st and have lost 14bs and I am thrilled! I am still loving my diet and it has become a lifestyle change. The last few days I have been exhausted!!! Weak, tired and I am not sure what I can do. My friends who a skeptics of my diet are telling me I need more carbs, but I stick to my guns that I already eat enough. I eat lots of veggies, cheese, meat and am looking for some ideas on how to boost my energy. Maybe I am too low on carbs, IDK. What are some things I can eat that will give me energy and still allow me to stick to my new lifestyle? Thanks in advance for your helP!

Are you still in induction or have you been moving up the rings? It could be a sign that it's time to increase.

        Re: Help!!

ok so I workout an hour and a half 3 days a week, I try to drink LOTS of water, I normally take a multivitamin. I did recently run out and have not gotten more. A normal day for me to eat would be either a protein shake or an egg and chs omelet, a salad with 2 tbsp cheese, piece of ham or chicken, 1/4 avocado, slivered almonds, and bacon bits for lunch. Dinner could be pork tenderloin, chicken, taco salad, sauteed asparagus, steamed brocolli, something along those lines. Snacks would be a spoonful of peanut butter, almonds, SF Jello with homemade whipped cream, pepperoni stick, porkrinds.

I have been concerned about my salt intake so I have been really trying to cutback on that.

what can I eat in the morning before the gym to give me the energy I need for the rest of the day?

        Thanks so much!

PS. How do I get my ticker to post? I feel so dumb! I never have trouble with that stuff.

Smile, you really can't afford to skip the multivitamin/mineral tablet.

I was feeling terribly tired, but added a potassium supplement and L-glutamine. I am not sure if that is what is making me feel better, but I no longer feel tired all the time.

Just from looking at your menu, it looks to me like you may not getting enough fat. I thought I was doing really well, but plugged my menu into Fitday and discovered I wasn't getting nearly enough fat.

Also, on the days when I skimp on veggies, I don't feel well.

I agree I need to take my vitamins. I am always feeling like I eat too much fat. Another thing I have noticed lately is I am ALWAYS cold!!!!! Granted it is winter, but I am freezing all the time, could this mean anything?

Well...if you've got dry skin and problems going too, you might want to get your thyroid checked. I just got diagnosed with a "lazy" thyroid; my complaints were weight gain, no energy, dry skin, always cold...You never know!

I'm curious about something. Your sig says that you are 5'10" and started at 173. Then you have lost 14 pounds which puts you at 159. Is that right?

Yes, I have a ticker, but I can't seem to get it to show. I cut and pasted the html and it won't seem to work.

                    Re: Help!!

I'm just curious about your goal weight or goal size. I'm 5'10" and I feel so healthy at 173. Any smaller and I look like a board.

                      Re: Help!!

The reason I had to start this diet is because at 173 I could not fit into any of my clothes. I guess everyone feels comfortable at different weights. I feel the best at 155-160.

Oh, absolutely. I just to know where other 5'10" people get their goal weights from. We're all shaped differently.
