There was a thread somewhere about people losing weight after eating steak. There was some kind of science behind it but I can't remember what was said.
Anyway both my husband and I had steak 2 days in a row and this morning he was up 2 pounds and I was up 3. I guess irt depends on what else we had but about the only other foods we had was coleslaw and eggs.
My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

      Re: Steak

The only thing I've ever seen as far as eating steak and losing weight is that grass fed beef is higher in CLA which helps burn fat (conjugated linoleic acid...probably spelled wrong)

I would question what was in your coleslaw first though. Commercially prepared can be a loaded with sugar

        Re: Steak

Thanks guys. I wish I could afford grass fed beef. So expensive in this area.
Chicklady. I homemake everything. I guess I should assume that folks don't know that when I post My coleslaw was cabbage, mayo, vinegar, and a tiny bit of splenda. Eat it quite often. My only issue was with the steak
        Thanks so much

Must be something else you ate that day..a hike like that sounds like water retention more than anything...did you drink all the water you should?

Yeah, drink lots of water. It might have been something else or maybe just one of those things

              Re: Steak

I am sure that it was just one of those things. I had a two day span las week taht I gained 13 pounds. Believe me I DID NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. within two more days I had lost it all plus a pound. The body is weird. Just remember that steak is very high in protein so control your portions; unused protein will convert to glucose. Good luck!

I had a 14 oz. NY Strip Steak for dinner last night. I'm down 2 pounds this morning. It's probably a coincidence, but I'll take it.

I eat it a couple of ways. Sometimes fry it in a pan with butter and seasoned with adobo seasoning. Its also good if you cook it on the grill with the same adobo seasoning. You can also broil it in the oven.
