    ok guys
    i started monday 2/9 and to date i have lost 5 lbs, thats WITH being on prednisone, and cheating one day (the capn crunch and mac n cheeze was calling me). anyhow...i am pleased with the 5 lb decrease but i dont want to get overly joyous at this point. will i continue to lose at this rate if i do all the same things daily? i SO want this to work!
    35 year old female height 5'7 (and a half)
    2/9/08 starting weight....174lbs
    2/13/08 current weight.....169lbs
    goal weight......................150 lbs
    current clothes size 8/10 (moreso 10)
    goal clothes size 6 (with room to move)

    Generally we lose about 10% of what we want to lose the first 2 weeks. So if you want to lose 25 pounds, you should lose 2 to 3 pounds on induction and then about a pound or two a week there after. BUT saying that, we are all different, we all eat differently.

      Congratulations! I'm glad the cheat and the prednisone didn't mess you up completely! Keep up the good work.

        You've done better than me and I didnt even cheat!!! But do realize that you dodged a bullet and you can be kicked out of ketosis after all of your hard work if you cheat....that is what I keep telling myself.

          thanx all. I'm thinking of stayn n induction until I lose all 20 to b sure I keep up the discipline. whatdya think?
          truth b told, I'm still extatic at the fact that I can eat all day long and still lose weight. if u understood some of the starvation diets I have done, you would understand my joy.

            I don't think it is a good thing to stay on induction till you've lost it all. Atkins is not supposed to be like that. You basically will learn nothing about how to live low carb if you do not work your way up the OWL ladder. Don't be afraid of the foods. They are supposed to be your friend. And when you reach your goal you will have the necessary tools to keep your weight down.

              Hey Mrs MDW! We are the same size height and almost same weight and I started on the same date as you! We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO going all the way!!! Keep up the good work, and like they say, don't stay on induction (although I am going to do a third week)...

                  guekjian, u r rite, we are about the same height/ weight.... encouraging! let's show 'em how it's done!!! bet? the only thing is...there is no way I'm goin down to 140 lbs. I would look like a crackhead. I been there before and it was not pretty on me. I will, however, be your cheerleader even after I meet my end goal of 150. how's that?

                    That is totally cool. I actually weighed 120 one day...and I mean that...during 24 hours...then I got pregnant!!! I looked HORRIBLE!!! My teenage weight was 135 and I don't think I will see that again, so 140 would (WILL) be sooooooooo wonderful!!!
