  • McDonalds!!!!!!!!!

I am soooooo disapointed with myself. We took our kids to McD's last night as a really big treat [can't remember the last time we were there] because they did so well in their exams. Everyones ordered the usual, burger and fries. They even had a Mcflurries.I ate a burger without the bun with was good I thought but I wasn't sure what exactly was in it and I also ardered a salad. I know there are sweetcorn and carrot but I thought it was better than fries or nothing as I would still have been hungry and the smell of those fries might have made me slip. I put a little of the salad dressing on also.
I watched them all eat their icecream and it was difficult but I didn't indulge.....until we were outside and one of my kids asked me to carry her ice cream!!! At the end of the night I would say in total I ate 1/2 a Mcflurries.
I am very disappointed with myself as it is the first time I have messed up knowingly. The other times I didn't weigh properly etc etc.
So, that's it. Now that I have confessed I feel better. My scales had stopped moving for a while but know they are on the go. I hope I haven't messed it all up...

    Re: McDonalds!!!!!!!!!

Though it is disappointing to find you can't resis eating something offplan, it should not affect your losing unless you let it throw you into a spin

so stick to 'legal' food choices and you should be fine

You might experience increased cravings for sweet foods, so be prepared to combat these feelings with snacks and meals which are on-plan.

For the future though you do need to work out a strategy for this not happening again, maybe you need to let the children know that you do not trust yourself around their leftover icecream at the moment and that if they cannot eat it all they need to throw it away instead of taking it along with them?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Re: McDonalds!!!!!!!!!

Erase the night from your mind. it's done. Clean up today and don't beat yourself up. My goodness, we don't expect perfection from ourselves in other areas and yet we beat ourselves up over this. I guess it is because this is an area where we are solely responsible for our own choices, but still perfection is a lot to ask. At this point, you have learned a Mc Flurry just wasn't worth how you felt afterward, so that's one choice you won't make again. But it will happen again, sometime, with something else. There is a silver lining. As Scarlett would say, "Tomorrow is another day."

Thanks for those girls. It has helped me think about what to do the next time the kids do well.... Take them to the swimming pool. simple
And also, it makes me realise that no one is perfect and it is not the end of the world. I went shopping today and bought prawns for my dinner tonight. I'm thinking of these cauiflower patties although they don't sound too good together. So what. If they taste good and they're ok foods.
thanks again girls and keep up the good work yourselves
