I have been following the Atkins program for 1 week (2nd time). I have about 30 pounds to lose. Even if I never lose a pound-which I have lost 4 so far- I would continue to eat a low carb diet bc I feel so GREAT.
I went for an acupuncture treatment today, and was speaking with my doctor. I asked him about yeast, mercury dental fillings, lower abdomen bloat (all mentioned as sympotms/problems of Candida in Dr. Atkins New Diet Rev. book). He did a test and said ¨yes you have glucose imbalance, problems with glucose and yeast.¨ ¨
He told me stay away form carbohydrates ( I did not tell him I had started the Atkins program). He suggusted I eat vegetables and a not to much animal protein. He himself eats a mostly vegetarian diet with fish. I do not eat red meat (bc I do not enjoy the taste).
Anyway---I have been Atkins-- but to try and eat this low carb, yeast free, dairy free, sugar free diet seems so overwhelming. I have been eating low car, sugar free obviously (Induction), but I have been eating dairy. I know the low carb, yeast free, dairy free sugar free way of living can be done. Many of the members have and currently eating this way.
I just need some ideas, some advice, some positive comments how this works out in life. Eating is so soical: restaurants, snacks at someones home, parties. My nephew has allergies to milk, he watches what he eats very carefully (his life depends on it!) by the way --he is 7!! If he can do it, so can I!
