    Has anyone experienced a change in hunger/appetite/food preferences during peri or menopause?





    290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

    Let me count the ways....LOL

    I get wicked PMS type cravings and an increased appetite around the dates my TOM used to be/is at times. Worse thanever. I also find I want different things than i would have before. And I need to exercise more than ever to maintain or lose. Getting older stinks.

      I am peri at this point. I cannot say I have noticed any preference changes or craving changes. I'll keep my eyes open though. As for harder to lose - easier to put on weight - yup that one I have experienced for sure.

        Well, I spent three days (so far!) with an insatiable appetite and my very first hot flash -a weird experience in 20 degree weather!! I can live with the hot flashes, but i don't want to sabotage my weight loss! What do I have to do to burn an extra 500 calories a day? Do hot flashes, which obviously heat you up, comsume any extra energy as your body tries to regulate its temperature?
        Ackkkkk!
