So many new folks believe they are doing something wrong when their scales stop moving so thought we could show them and each other how different our loses are.

Re: Does your weight
I haven't been on the diet for a very long time. But so far my results are that I will lose, see a nice low number on the scale.... then bounce back up and it will be a few days before I see that number again.
It is frustrating, but that is a VERY good incentive to hide the scales in the closet and only weigh once a week.

Re: Does your weight
I could answer all of the above on the poll question
Sometimes, I had a steady poundage loss. Sometimes, I would have a whoosh. Sometimes it used to yo yo.
That's why I eventually stopped putting alot of emphasis on the pounds I lost and started looking at the inches I lost. I've written it before, but I had a period of months where I'd lose a pound or two one week, the "regain" it the next week and "stall" or lose alittle the next week. Well, that happened through the winter. That spring, I decided to buy a pair of summery pants. So I went to the store, headed directly to the extended sizes---because I didn't really lose any pounds so I figured I must be the same size, and tried on my size. It didn't fit. I tried on the size bigger. It didn't fit. I tried on my start size. And it didn't fit either. I was in a panic in the dressing room---none of the pants I tried on fit, including the size I started at. I was so mad at myself and at this diet, because I wasted my time. I hadn't lost any pounds and now I couldn't fit into anything. Then it dawned on me. Those pants didn't fit because they were too big ! I lost an incredible amount of inches: I was smaller. I was no longer that huge whale I had been.
So, I don't care what the scale says.~Megs~

Re: Does your weight
I will yo yo on a daily basis, but for the weekly totals, I haven't had a week yet where I have gained. I think most people will answer the same. I probably weigh myself 4 times a day, but I only obsess over the first weigh in in the morning, over a period of a week. I use fitday to track my weight, and I have lost weight every single 7 day period since mid December. Even after my epic cheat day on New Years Day. You might think you've cheated, but trust me, I probably set a record with that binge. My friends here won't allow that craziness to happen again.

Re: Does your weight
well, I still feel I have not lost anything going on 12 days and my pants are still tight. Think I might be getting too many calories in general-I thought we were not supposed to focus on calories but I am DEFINITELY doing something wrong. Induction is hard enough and I can't believe I am not even at 20 carbs... I am probably the most resistant of all here.sigpicStart 2/9/09

Re: Does your weight
Ditto. In addition, sometimes there's no movement at all and I wonder how it all added up to 100 pound loss.Originally posted by not2late View PostI could answer all of the above on the poll question

.
That still doesn't keep me off the scale tho

Re: Does your weight
I have been bouncing around with the same 3 lbs for 2 months now. One week I lose it but the next week it's back. Sometimes I think it's because I'm eating too much fat because I do tend to let the oil bottle tip too much. So now I'm thinking about going back to induction for awhile because I'm starting to get a little mad at myself for not being able to get a steady weight loss going.

Re: Does your weight
I find that since I've advanced to OWL the pounds don't come off as quickly and until I found the flax cookie recipe I was having trouble going to the bathroom, but that has changed so that makes my life much better...lol! It might be slow loss but I'm ok with that - I've done so many crash/fad diets, I've done Nutri-System, Weight Watchers and another diet that you paid through the nose and ate 500 calories a day (can't remember the name of it -- they aren't in business anymore). Anyone remember the "I Love NY Diet"....I can probably still recite what you eat on Tuesday with that diet...yuck!
This is the first time in my life that I don't feel deprived, I enjoy eating and finding new recipes. I like cooking my own food and not eating out of cardboard boxes that are delivered to my home. It's nice to eat something other than chicken tenders steamed in chicken broth 5 days a week for lunch. This is so easy to do -- I haven't had any trouble from the beginning - I really don't "miss" anything enough to go off track and cheat. I'm high enough on OWL now that I can throw a pkt of seeds in my purse if I need to go somewhere (like the hospital ER again!!) to get through! As soon as I got to the nut rung I threw a 1oz packet of sunflower seeds in my purse (that I got with a salad when I ate out one day) and it's a relief to know there is something there in case I need it!
Slow is fine with me -- I have a new saying --- each pound 1 loose give me 1 additional day onto my life. Ever since I've been thinking of my loss that way it's been really empowering!

Re: Does your weight
I was losing about 3lbs a week after my big 12lb loss on the first week of induction, but ever since I found out I was NOT supposed to deduct fibre from my daily carb intake because in the UK it's already done, I've lost 4-5lbs each week.
I also cut out breakfast. I know I shouldn't but I can't stomach it, I have to force myself to eat lunch and a good dinner. By the time I'm tucking into my dinner I'm enjoying it though.
I've only been on Atkins 6 and a half weeks so we'll see. Oh and I'm doing the extended induction I haven't moved onto OWL.
