  • Am I imagining it...?

    Hello all!

I am still going with the WOL and pretty happy with it - I have lost about 20lbs, and 4 inches off my waist, but am now stuck in the 20lbs zone(think I have indulged too much too soon in grapes ), which is fine, as it was a good pretty fast start and as long as it doesn't go up, I should be happy.
BUT, my clothes don't really feel any looser and not one blinkin' person has noticed that I have lost weight, which would be a huge motivator!
20lbs is a lot of weight when you are only trying to lose 40!! I have looked at my [frankly gross] start pictures and myself now, and I think I can see a big difference, but seems like no-one else can tell....ho-hum
(yes, my self-esteem is such that I need validation from others - pathetic, I know!)

Please don't get discouraged. 20 lbs is a lot! That is exciting! I have found that people you are around everyday do not notice weight loss like someone you haven't seen in a while. Don't take it personally that no one has noticed. I am sure that they will eventually have a moment when they look at you and it will hit them like a lead balloon. Be patient, you will soon have everyone talking about how good you are looking!

Walk away from the grapes LOL!

I do know how you feel. People didn't mention my weight loss for quite a while. They started when I hit 20 pounds down. I think people are worried about saying anything for a while and then see you are continuing and doing well. I know it may sound silly, but have you changed the clothes you are wearing? If you're wearing the same sort of thing I don't think people notice as much and the clothes could be baggy. I get most compliments now I wear completely different things that skim the figure rather than swamp it! Keep up the good work - you're half way there - YAY! x

Ugh, don't you just hate that? I mean, when you've lost ten, twenty pounds... You're admiring your "new" body... Running your hands over your slightly thinner legs... Bending a little easier, while you shave in the shower...

Yet, no one around you has anything to say!

        LOL!

Well, that's how it is for me! I try prancing around in a pair of shorts I wouldn't normally have worn around the boyfriend, and... Nothing!

Ah, well! At least we get to notice, right?!

          Re: Am I imagining it...?

I can easily lose 10-20 lbs without anyone noticing.. I am well-proportioned and when I put on or take off weight it comes from everywhere not just one area so sometimes that makes a big difference.

People will notice, don't worry! You know it and you are feeling great!!!

And yes, sometimes people won't say anything before you do because what if you weren't trying to lose or haven't lost anything? Then they feel terrible!

You are doing great, step off the grapes a little and keep at it!!!
