  • Newbie!

    Hi all,
I have been reading through some of the posts here and am excited to get back on Atkins again.
I first tried this WOE in Jan. of '04 and lost 17 lbs. Then a few months later I got married and got pregnant with my son. So needless to say, I fell off the wagon and attempted to get back on several times since then but have yet to succeed. I am really hoping that this for a support tool will help me stay focused. I know this is a great way for me to lose weight! I am such a sweets junky and I hate that! I loved how I felt the first time around and I hope this time it will be even better!
I am going to shop tomorrow to stock up on everything I need and begin on Sat. 2/21.

    Re: Newbie!

Well congratulations on your baby, and how you lost 17lbs on your last try! I wish you good luck too! You're lucky because your weight isn't that high. 182 isn't so bad, and depending on your height, muscle, and bodily features, you could be around normal. Another thing you have on your side is age. I'm only 13, so I can't do the Atkin's diet, but I can get the support here without the awkwardness of the parents :P.
    My CW(Current Weight): 265lbs
    My GW: 140lbs

So as you see, I have over 100lbs to lose. So you've got it easy,
Well, anyways, I wish you good luck!

      Re: Newbie!

Hi Asmallerme, Good luck with your new start! I have a couple of tricks I do that might interest you. I made a chain with some beads on it, it's long enough to go around my shoulders but you can have it any length you wish. Even just a few beads is fine. Whenever I feel like cheating I touch a bead and say to myself "I can do this" next bead "I am strong" next bead " I am a beautiful person " assign one to God or your higher power asking for your sthength to continue in your plan. You can "label" a bead however you wish. By the time you go through the beads the cheating feeling is gone and you feel good. Another hint about the sweet things --- a doctor told me when I crave something sweet to eat something sour instead. This really works! I love my pickle at night watching tv instead of cheating on snack foods. Hope this helps you.
