  • Question about the Fitday Activity log

To give a little backstory (and to fill up 5 minutes of my day that I don't have to spending thinking about HOW yummy that chicken smells in the oven) I've been using fitday basically just to count my vegetable intake as far as carbs go - and to see where I'm heading calorie wise (which surprisingly enough to me almost always stays underneath 1700).

I've also decided to use it to track my exercise! ^.^ Maybe it'll help me stay consistent with it if I know I have to log it

Now, using their baseline metabolism, it says that my baseline is around 1958. I find this consistant with my body fat calculator so I'll go with it. HOWEVER, whenever I look at my activity log, it says that my seating-ness for 24 hours or what not = 2709.

    So I'm just wondering.

Where did the extra 750 calories get burned? I thought baseline calories burned was just what happened on a normal day without doing anything extra? Is this just an error with fit day?

If a tree falls in a forest out of hearing range of any living organism, did it make a sound?

If a person eats yummy stuff without counting the carbs, did it have carbs to begin with?

Re: Question about the Fitday Activity log

I think baseline means the sort of absolute minimum you would use if you just laid in bed. But since that is not the case on fitday you select your work level too and that will add calories
My baseline is 1166 (according to fitday - determined by my gender, height, weight and age)
My daily consumption need accoriding to fitday (for seated work) is 1690
So it is that small daily movement that add that extra enegry fitday thinks I need.
