  • Sick but sticking to it

I've lost 7lbs in 9 days!! I'm sick today, though. I'm sticking to it, even watching what's in my medicines.

My blood sugar dropped to 61 this morning, and I had to take a tablespoon of pancake syrup to get it up quickly. (I'm at home alone with 2 babies 3 yrs and 1 yr, I had no choice) Normally, I would wait it out and my sugar would level off, but I can't chance having Mommy knocked out on the floor with 2 little ones running around.

I don't feel that the syrup will "mess me up" as far as my diet goes. Matter of fact, it only contained 6 grams of carbs, so my total for today as of now is only 11.

Vitamins, exercise and lots of water are 3 things I"m doing differently now, and Atkin's is working.

I keep hearing all this "b.s." about how bad Atkin's is for my health. I asked them (who shall remain nameless) where they got their information from. You know what they said, "The Internet." I just laughed and said, "And you actually believed it?" I don't dare push anyone to accept Atkin's as their way of life, but DANGIT, I'm tired of people trying to turn me against it.

I'll get over my sickness, maybe even losing another pound or so. I have never been so excited, seeing my goal creeping closer and closer. My first goal of 179lbs by March 6th??? I blew it away!! (going to a concert on the 24th of March... I hope to be "SMOKIN' HOT" by then!!)

    Peace y'all.

    Hi Sheila,
I hope you're feeling better by now. No fun being sick, especially when you got little ones. Have you tried egg drop soup? Really hits the spot on cold days or when you're sick. Just boil some chicken broth (I use homemade but boughten with work too) and stream in sime beaten eggs.
You canalso add some celery or bell pepper to it also. So yummy.
    Get better

      Dearest Susan,

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I forgot about egg-drop soup! I have a quart of powdered chicken broth (only takes about 1tbs per 1quart of water), and I have eggs!!! How wonderful that will be! I never thought about adding celery. That will be fabulous. I'm not too big on bell peppers only because they give me heartburn, or at least I burp them up quite a bit. teehee ~ But I have to say, I'm not feeling much better today. I need a bit more rest. I refuse to be sick this weekend... I'm taking lots of vit C and zinc... I think egg drop soup will be my lunch. Thank you so much!

      Sheila
