I just realized that I honestly think Atkins is helping me SAVE MONEY! no joke.
I was just looking up some information on low-fat diets vs. low carb & something struck me that I haven't really "complained" about since going low-carb...
When I was doing low-fat diets, one of my BIGGEST complaints was - when you go grocery shopping - MOST low-fat or fat-free counterparts are more EXPENSIVE than their full fat counterpart.
Anyone who's EVER done a low-fat diet knows this.
For example - cheese slices...if you buy "fat-free" cheese slices, you're EASILY going to pay at LEAST a dollar more, if not more than that, per item.
And when I'd see that, it'd make me angry - and I'd always think, "it's sooo expensive to eat 'healthy'"...
when - in reality (now that I know better) - to actually EAT HEALTHY - it's A LOT LESS expensive.
1. I'm not buying the "low-fat" or "fat-free" counterparts, which again are normally a dollar or more per item...
2. I'm not buying ANY type of processed boxed carbs (be-it rice, pasta, 100 calorie snacks, etc...)
3. Now that I'm buying WHOLE FOODS - my grocery bill has HONESTLY dropped about $30 / week. (used to average 100 or more at wally world, and now I'd say i'm doing about $70)
Just another reason I LOVE this way of eating!
anyone else realize this?... :P

As well as the grocery bill being cheaper we're not spending on things like fast-food while out and about nor cakes and buns when we go somewhere for a cup of coffee.
