  • anyone here NOT eat cheese?...

Ok - so as I know the book says, cheese may stall some people.
While I'm VERY excited about my weight loss thus far, I would like it to be a little faster (who wouldn't?...lol)

So I'm thinking about going the next week (starting today) without cheese - OR if i have it at ALL - it'll only be once a day...but I'm going to try to NOT have it.

I'm just wondering if any of you have done this and noticed a difference? I'm NOT giving it up for life or anything, of course - lol - but I just want to see if that could be a reason I'm not losing at the rate I'd like to.

    thanks!

I tried it for two weeks and didn't see any difference (kept my calories about the same though). The only way cheese affects my weight loss is if I eat more than about 4 oz per day. For some reason, cottage cheese does not fall into this category -- I can eat up to a .5-1 cup a day (above the usual 4 oz) without any problem.

Cheese stalls me, and I love, love, love it. I try not to buy it except for certain recipes and I try not to have it more than a couple of times a week. All dairy has a negative effect on me and I have had a lot of problems with yeast overgrowth. My whole digestive system feels better when I cut diary completely out. Sigh... I didn't buy cream this week and no cheese to give my tummy a break. I lose bloat right away when I go dairy free.

People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

How much are you loosing per week? I think that as long as you are loosing then maybe it's just the way your body looses weight. I've had a gradual but steady weight loss each week. I didn't drop heaps of weight in the first few weeks of induction but have lost on average 3lbs per week. I know that it may be hard with your upcomming wedding but just remember that this is your journey and not to compare yourself to someone elses loss. Your body is unique to you.

I eat cheese most days with no effects although I never eat the maxium 3 oz allowed. I usually keep it at 1-2 oz per day. Maybe you could cut it back to 1oz or every second day and see how you go.

I've been thinking of doing that - cutting dairy completely out. I've never really KNOWN if i've ever had an issue WITH dairy...but - in the 6 or so month last year before i started atkins, i was constantly sick (mainly because of my metformin) - but the actual FOOD that was making me sick along with the metformin could have been ANY food type.

I've heard a lot about the yeast thing and how people DO feel better once they cut dairy out. I guess the only thing I could do is give it a shot and see!
