    I'm back

I was last on Atkins in 2007, did very well and for some reason fell off the wagon. Well I am back on and doing well, lost six pounds in nine days. It is now day 10 and I have really lost my appetite and cannot find anything I really want to eat. I am drinking a lot of water. Is this normal? Any suggestions for what I can do to get my appetite back as I know this is not good.

    Re: I'm back

    Welcome, ktinas.

Glad you're back on the wagon.

Yes, loss of appetite is normal during induction.

Just continue, making sure you eat all your veggies, and your appetite should return within a week or two.

        Re: I'm back

I've been on extended induction for 8 weeks now. At the begining I also lost my appetite for about 2 weeks which was a bit of a novelty for me. But never fear it will come back. My appetite returned and some times I now feel hungry as I approach mealtimes but not ravenously so. Keep your cals up at least 1200 and each your minimum 3 cups of veg. You could also look at eating more nutrient/calorie dense foods such as olives so you don't have to scoff down a whole heap of food. Good luck.
