I just got the Atkins cook book and am somewhat confused... it says something in there about carbs in the US calculate net carbs by taking away the fibre content but in the UK this is different and doesn't happen. I live in the UK and am not sure if I should just be looking at the carbs or carbs minus fibre content? Help anyone???

Re: Carbs / Fibre confusion
In the UK, they never put anything on the nutritional label except the net carbs. They already deduct for fiber. In the US our label states the total carb count and then the fiber and we have to do the math.
As an example:
Canned (tinned) sliced mushrooms (It's what I have handy):
USA: Serving size: 1/2 cup with liquid, (115 g), calories 20, Total Carbohydrate 3 g, Dietary Fiber 1 g = 2 net carbs
UK: Serving size: 1/2 cup with liquid, (115 g), calories 20, Carbohydrate 2 g = 2 net carbsPeople who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
