Re: Day 5 on Atkins and nothing is happening...
The book says we should only weigh at the end of induction, so we don't get discouraged by moody scales.
From your avatar, you don't seem as if you have a lot to lose. At the end of induction, one can expect to have lost approximately 5-10% of the extra body weight. Those people who lose 15 lbs in induction usually have more to lose.
If you are not sure whether your menu is okay, you should post it in the 'Review my Menu' forum.

Chinders, if you are in ketosis a LOT is happening inside. You just can't see it on the outside yet!

you have to remember, this is not a fad diet and the weight doesn't always "fall" off quickly. It depends on how much weight you have to loose to begin with. You said in your other post you aren't getting your 20 carbs in a day, are you getting enough fat each day? You should post your daily food so we can help you more.Carole_____________________May Water 130oz daily

Re: Day 5 on Atkins and nothing is happening...
your body could have a LOT to do with you you're not seeing results as fast as everyone else. (meaning, if you're insulin resistant and/or have metabolic syndrom and/or pcos...there's so many reasons why every one of our bodies is unique)
i myself, for example, am insulin resistant and I realize i'm going to lose at a much slower pace than most - I have "only" lost 11 pounds in the past two MONTHS and I started on January 03rd. no big "cheats" meaning - no bread, no pasta, no rice, no potatoes, no flour, no sugar, etc...(course, small cheats as in some fruit and/or peanut butter when not on those rungs...) but i'm sooo happy to have lost what I have, even though it's taken 2 months to get here - who knows what i'll be in a month?! but I DO know that one month from now - even if i'm "only" at say 12 pounds lost (meaning 1 pound within the next) - i look at it like this "it may have taken me 3 months, but at least i'm not gaining!) you really do have to be patient!
it's tough - but you HAVE to get into the mindset that this is for life. this ISN'T just something you can do for the two week induction and then go back to eating any other way.
Low carb really is the way humans should eat - and always remember this - you did NOT gain it over night - you're NOT going to lose it over night.
but - and please don't take this like i'm sayiing it won't happen or that you're not being patient - but that's what you'll have to be. patient. it's only been four days - and like Georgiana says, the book says to not weigh yourself until after the 2 week induction.
i wish you all the luck. you can do this!!!Find my blog at: http://keriannmb.blogspot.com/
