  • 38lbs gone update

    Hey all,
I don't pop in as much as I used to, so just thought I'd post an update and a few words of encouragement. Since starting again in November, have so far lost 38lbs. Every single week, I've lost weight.
I had a whole wardrobe full of clothes that I had bought but had never worn cos they were too tight. Now, I have so many new clotes that all fit great. Jeans that in November I didn't have a hope in **** of even fastening, with a a 6 inch gap between the fasteners are now falling off me!
I can really see a difference in myself and people are always commenting on the difference in me too.
As well as wanting to look good, I'm also doing it for my health. I'm sick of getting a bad back. I got gout once and please Jesus I never get that again. Also, diabetes seems to be exploding everywhere and I really don't want to be a victim.
For breakfast most days, I enjoy a sausage, two rashers, an egg and a slice or either black or white pudding.
For dinner I love chicken and turkey or sometimes beef, usually done in a stir-fry with tons of garlic and chilli and my favourite vegetable...broccolli.
I am enjoying blueberries, kiwi fruits, pears and dates and it's all good.
It's also amazing how my tastes have changed. I've a very sweet tooth, but I don't miss any cakes or sweets or any of that junk. I now see them as rubbish that just helps to make me fat and unhealthy. I used to drink tea with lots of milk and 5 sugars. Now, I drink plain green tea and I love it. Up to about 7 cups a day and its so good for you.
I dont miss fizzy drinks. I drunk diet sodas for a long time, and got on great with them...but I find now that I'm even turning from them, preferring water and green tea.
So hang in there. Your tastes do change and you get used to this way of living and you grow to love it.
I've a fair way to go yet, but it's not a chore...I'm thriving and I love it!

    That's excellent. Well done.

It's good to hear that tastes change. Since September, when I started school in New York, I've become addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper. What a vice. And I've never even seen it back home. I've been about a week without it (giving it up for Lent), but I still occasionally want it badly. So hopefully that craving will pass.

It is good to see you posting again, pres and even better to hear you are making Atkins your way of eating, not just a diet
Congratulations on wearing those smaller clothes and even finding them getting almost too big to wear!!
