  • I bought a swimsuit... eeek

Ok. I couldn't help myself. Last night I was in Target just looking around and I came across the sales rack, chock fulla swimsuits for real cheap (normally ladie's swimsuits can cost over $80 and then some). I found one I really liked. So I grabbed an 18, and a 16.
Currently, I am wearing size 20 jeans which are getting baggier and baggier, yay! Anyway... I had to decide between the 18 and the 16 ...
I contemplated buying both and then returning one in two months before I go on vacation as the suits were only $14.98 each... but I said forget that and I bought the 16.

I better freakin' be able to fit in it!!!!

Any other daredevils buy their swimsuit/trunks yet? How low in size did ya go? I wonder if I'm being way to hopeful. The thought of summer coming is now too close, and too scary! I saved the receipt just in case:P

What a terrific way to stay motivated!! I would have bought the small size too!!

Now, stay on track and KEEP EXERCISING!! Lots of cardiovascular exercise will go a long ways towards losing inches!!

    YOU CAN SO DO IT!!

If it doesn't fit now, just remind yourself that it will later That's why I bought mine so small. And heck, if it doesn't fit this summer, fine, so be it, all that matters in the end is the fact that we're doing this, regardless of whether or not we drop all the pounds we want by tomorrow, or next year.

Not kidding... so far the cheapest female suit I've seen (not on sale) was $28 - although I haven't checked the prices at WalMart or Kmart etc. But in department stores... my gosh, it's crazy. I remember years ago I was still living with my parents etc., had no monetary responsibilities, so I dropped $180 on a swimsuit.

I have pants/jeans hanging on my wall by my elliptical trainer. When I get tired I just stare at the backside of them and think "butt getting smaller, butt getting smaller" :P

This past fall I went to the LLBean outlet store and spotted all these shorts that had sold for $29 during the summer on sale for $2.95. I picked up the size 12's and 10's, and tried them on. The 12's fit wonderfully, the 10's were TOO small. I was surprised cause I was wearing size 14 jeans.

I purchased the 10's, one color of each. Recently I tried them on and I could wear them outside now.

Still need to find the swimsuit cause my size 14 from last summer is a bit too baggy through the stomach and hips.

I recently went shopping -well sort of ... I went up to my attic where I had some of my skinny clothes from a couple of years ago. I only saved the ones I really really loved because I didn't think they'd fit again- ever. Thought I'd sort through them and then give them up eventually. Anyway, I needed some pants because my 14's are getting loose. So I went for the 12's and found one size 10 up there. Thats my pants to look at for motivation. But what a great surprise that the 12's all fit! So it's kind of like new clothes. Haven't made the plunge for a bathing suit yet. I have a size 10 here. Guess I'll bring that down next month to look at. :nod

I need to go shopping for one for Basic Training, really soon.
I'm not looking forward to either trying on suits or the probably large expense involved, as I have to get a good one, not just your basic "sale" type (I don't think).

Wow! You guys are feeling good!

No matter how small I've been....my smallest was a size two...I have hated bathing suits! Especially a two piece. Even now at my current size 8 I won't get into one unless absolutely necessary. I hate those things! I did two pageants in college and I lost because of my swimsuit score..no matter what I just never feel comfortable in one!
Congrats to those of you enjoying this part of the weight loss struggle..I never will!

                            Grosss!!!

LOL ok, so, I tried the size 16 swimsuit on.
                            Yep. It's pretty gross.

It fits. But it's gross. It's a one piece - it's not a skirtini or anything like those ones that "hide" your butt and upper thighs, etc. It's a regular bathing suit and I'll be damned if I get into it and go in public ever!

The things on my body I never paid attention to... I'm so bewildered. Stretch marks on my thighs galore. They look worse than the cellulite.
I know I can't fit into size 16 jeans or shorts right now - stretchy bathing suits are different - so you can imagine how tight this thing is on me, lol. Sad thing is I don't have the chest to fill it! I'm all outta proportion!

Anyway, I've been pretty unmotivated lately cus I'm not losing anything, but I think what I'm gonna have to do is take a photograph of myself (and oh yes I will be blocking my head out so as to protect myself from humility lol) and post it online get online everyday and know that hundreds might see it, I'll see it, I'll get disgusted, and I'll get off my rear.
                            Maybe.

Gah. I hope all of you guys have better luck than me!!!

A swimsuit sure is a big swat in the face with reality, isn't it?
When I put mine on last year I was quite horrified at what I saw, but I also saw that my body has natural curves, and I envisioned myself shrinking down and having a nice curvy body sooner or later.

This is just the start for you! It's exciting to think of where you're headed.
Your body is not always going to look like that...mine has changed, and my friend, if my body can change, yours can too...trust me. Trust Dr. Atkins, trust yourself. :hug
