  • Bulletin Board Downtime

    Hi all,

Sorry for the board outage. There was a mistake made by the company that we use for domain name registration. The issue was fixed quickly but there is a propagation time ( the time that it takes the info to get sent out to the internet ).

In the future if there is a problem here please visit Low Carb Bulletin Board and we can use that as our designated backup.

Again I appologize for this outage and have done everything in my power to make sure that it doesnt happen again.

    Regards,
    Tom

Thanks, Tom, for the back-up board. I was sweating all the "what if" scenarios yesterday! It might be the time to work on ADBB dependency issues!
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

          Re: Bulletin Board Downtime

There was a Facebook group asking about it... asking if people wanted to regroup, but I joined and there was only one other person there!!! This morning the person who set it up had left (probably after finding the boards back up! So I left too and the group was deleted!

Glad to see we are all back! Phew!

Hah ... I probably could list a short list of who was behind that.
There are a list of about 7 people who have been wanting to take control of ADBB for the past 7 years. There have been 3 splits ( IMO all unsucessful )

The official place to go in case there is a problem is Low Carb Bulletin Board ( you can go there now if you want ) basically all of the people on there were on here at one point. It just went up again recently so there is not much action there ... but feel free to start some ... otherwise we just use it as a back up

Um... I wish we had known about the backup board... in the past 23 hours, 54 minutes (aka time since board disappeared), Georgiana and I have sent each other approximately 83 Facebook messages regarding the outrage and how we keep refreshing it yet nothing happens... I am sure this does not qualify as an addiction.

P.S. She still cannot logon. I would gloat but I feel that's just too cruel (even for me).

                  Re: Bulletin Board Downtime

Wow, we have .org now too??? We were trying out various links - to forums, specific posts, user cp, etc yesterday. It was really sad... and maybe a little pathetic. I suppose I should have also mentioned we had some sort of FB chat happening that involved us whining for a couple hours on and off...

Do you feel guilty yet, Tom?? Can we get treats?? :P

FYI - she tried the link and says: It does take me to the forums page. But I am not able to sign in, nor access any forums. When I try to do anything, it redirects me to Aplus.

Have her close her browser and then re-open it and try to re-type. Everyone else is fine. It should be resolved.

Yes, thanks so much Tom, being new I was having withdrawal coz the day before when I had joined I was so excited to find some time to get on your board to finish looking around and getting acquainted. Thank you for all that you do to make this place absolutely wonderful! Shame on those people for trying to hijack your site! I can't imagine that it could be any better that is for sure!

                            Hi Tom,

I couldn't access the board last night nor today from my home office computer...I even tried 2 x other computers that are in our home and couldn't access it from them either...however, I can access it from my office computer down town....any thoughts?

I tried the other links you shared with Lyssie yesterday (in this thread) to access this board and they didn't work for me either.

I have pm'd you about this as well as another question.
