  • Induction and bodybuilding

    Hi,

I am on Atkins for three weeks now and plan on doing extended induction for a while since I cheated more than once. My brother who is a bodybuilder seems particularly interested in losing some weight so that he would look a little less bulkier but the problem is that he takes in extra protein in the form of powder. Is this acceptable on Atkins? How can he do Atkins without sacrificing his bodybuilding?

    Thanx

    Re: Induction and bodybuilding

Nature's Best Zero Carb Isopure is what I use. It contains 50g of protein per serving, 210 calories, zero carbs, zero sugar, 1g fat. For reference, I am 6'3" and have been on extended induction for 19 weeks as of yesterday, going from 250lbs to 192lbs. I also do a six day split workout routine in addition to 45 minutes of cardio at each session. I have found that the addition of a quality protein powder (I use creamy vanilla mixed only with water) gives me the additional protein I need (so as to not cannibalize) as I continue to cut fat and gain muscle.
