Well, I just found that out, actually. Three pounds gone this morning BUT...I must tell you I've been stuck for a LONG time...struggling with the same few pounds back and forth. I've been reevaluating food, carbs, exercise, water. So, I might not be the one to give you the most qualified answer. I've never seen more than just a few pounds vanish but they usually do after your visitor leaves the building!!
I also have to say I feel it's really important to be faithful to everything even during the tough times that you're not seeing or feeling any results at all. Don't allow the absence of a lower number on the scale or tape measure make it easier for you to give in...you have to keep living the lifestyle for it to pay you back. Sometimes I've felt pretty cheated in my efforts versus my results but I know if stray....that always PAYS YOU BACK quicker than being faithful to this WOL.
I haven't had a period while on Atkins yet. (I'm actually pretty late. O.o)
But in the past, while dieting, I have noticed that I'll gain/stay the same the week before my period, and then weigh less after.

I found that I weighed the same. Although, I did have a lot going on....
I was freaking out because my period was almost 4 weeks late (I should have been getting it about when I started Atkins at the time). I hadn't heard anyone mention anything about the correlation of the two, and I KNEW I wasn't pregnant so I was gearing myself up to go to the doctor (which I hate!) but I thought that maybe my lack of it could be due to my abruptly stopping my prozac medication.
I had heard that it could stall me, so I stopped taking it on a trial basis...didn't even see any change in my behavior. As a last ditch effort I started taking it again and 2 days later I got it. I have no idea if these two are related but it's never wise to stop taking a prescribed medicine like that without a doctors input anyway.
Just thought I'd add my two cents about it so if anyone else has an issue like that, they know they're not alone. I know I felt alone at the time!

It doesn't seem to matter with me. But I seem to want to eat more a few days before so if I do gain I know the reason.
My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people. ~Orson Welles
Everytime I am tempted to use food to satisfy my frustrated desires, build up my injured ego, or dull my senses, I will remember, That even though I overeat in private, my excess poundage is there for all the world to see. ------------------------------------------------------------ "Eating like most people won't, so I can look like most people don't."
I weigh 4 -5 pounds more just before, but on the first day I drop back down. Don't necessarily weigh less than I did before the 5 pound blip though.

I made the mistake of weighing in for the first time in three weeks yesterday - first day of AF... I weighed at the chemist because I was in town and was 3lb down... I really feel like I have lost more (although 1lb a week in OWL is not bad I suppose) so will wait til AF departs and go and weigh in with the nurse at my docs...
