I have a few things that I cannot keep on hand due to temptation to over eat. Avocado is hard.. I can't stand seeing the other half go brown haha Heavy cream uhhhh so tempted to make it all into whip cream freeze in dollops and eat. I have to buy just enough to make my recipe and then dump the rest... american cheeze... is this legal??? Anyway I like to put spray pam a plate and put a piece in the micro for just under a minute.. ufff it is soooo good.. but I will eat like 5 in a sitting.. AND THAT IS CONTROLLiNG myself.. because I want more. thought it would be fun to see if anyone else is like this? or err eumm maybe it is just me hahaha

Re: what legal foods can you not even have in the house???
American cheese is only allowed when you reach OWL Rung 2, but even then I wouldn't recommend it because it is highly processed... which defies the whole point of this woe.
I was known for eating too many nuts, but I discovered I don't have this problem unless I keep them on my desk while working. If I just have a handful, put the rest back and go do my job, I can snack on nuts without binging.
Same as above for cherry tomatoes.
Yep, that's about it. I don't think I have any Atkins-legal foods whose intake I absolutely cannot control. On the other hand, I don't usually have snacks or sweets (maybe once a month or so) and most of my calories come from three meals... so it's harder to binge on omelets, chicken, broccoli, etc."Get action. peanuts or cashews or pistachios, when I am on that rung. And while Georgiana is right about the American cheese being processed, I am not a purist (living here you don't have a lot of choices) and I do find that microwaved cheese bits are hard to limit.

I've been eating sauteed green tomatoes for breakfast almost every morning for about 2 weeks. I could eat them throughout the day if I allowed myself to. But every morning I plug my meals for the day into Fitday.com and I don't deviate from that. It keeps me honest.

Jello is something I cannot deal with. I have to finish it all. It has powers over me. And then salted nuts - I avoid those because if I start I cannot stop. And related to that: peanut butter. There just is no such a thing as only one tsp of peanut butter
Of induction legal stuff - cream cheese was probably the one thing that was most problematic for me. I have to think about portions with that one.
And I have also come to realize, to my sadness, that I don't deal well with coffee. Coffee and tea even when decaffeinated - stimulates my appetite like crazy and I have to really think hard about when I can have a cup.

Almonds!! Who would've thought almonds would be my downfall?? I solved that last night. I finished off the last of the almonds while my son munched on popcorn at the movie theater. I already had my daily intake in the morning but I figured almonds were a better alternative for me last night than the other 20 things at the concession counter I would've otherwise wanted to indulge in. Going shopping today and skipping the nut aisle altogether!!

Peanut butter. I bought peanut butter three different times during Christmas to bake peanut butter cookies. I never ended up making one single peanut butter cookie, so I didn't buy any more. I start out telling myself that I will only eat one small spoonful. It never works. Soon, I know I have to squirt some dish soap in it and throw it in the trash.
Pork rinds are a close second, and I didn't even like them when I started Atkins. I have to put them way far away (like the trunk of my car) or immediately crush them for recipes when I bring them into the house.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Fluff (whipped cream mixed with cream cheese, vanilla, and splenda). Before Atkins, I had a huge problem with homemade buttercream icing, and I think this is too similar.
And here's a weird one - Oopsie rolls. The recipe makes six, and I always eat all six in a single day. Can't stay away from them.We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle

Re: what legal foods can you not even have in the house???
Tomatoes are my very favorite food in the world! When I first started Atkins, I was still getting plenty of tomatoes from the garden, so I didn't cut them completely out, but they had to be out of sight for me to stay out of them. It's hard when you think that the middle of September is the beginning of a long winter and spring with no fresh tomatoes and those from the store taste like plastic. I never put tomatoes in the fridge, so I have a basketful on the counter. I had to cover the basket with a dish towel so I wouldn't see them.Originally posted by emmie30 View PostHeavy cream, I can hear it calling my name from the fridge lol. and tomatoes, i try and avoid them as they seem so high in carbs but sliced with a little salt on them mmmm.
Many times in the summer, I will (would) just cut up a big plateful of tomatoes, sprinkle on a little salt and call it lunch or dinner. I have stood by a cherry tomato plant and have eaten tomatoes until I almost get sick.
I am so craving the taste of tomatoes today, that I am making lasagna with my home-canned pasta sauce from summer and thin-sliced zucchini for noodles.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
