  • Week #9 - down 1.5 pounds - total 12.5!!!!!

I must say - as i've said a hundred times before in the past 9 weeks -
    I LOVE ATKINS!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just soooooo close to being under that 180 mark (i know for a lot of people, it's getting into "onederland" - but for me, my "mark" has always been 180)...

And - I'm NOT just saying this - but seriously - I LOVE this woe because I - for once in my adult life - i seriously do NOT feel like I'm dieting!!!!!

It's just so weird for me - because, as I've mentioned before, I lost 60 pounds on weight watchers back in 2004 going from 220 to 160. But - even though I continued to eat low fat, high fiber, high carbs (as they teach you, and that is how i lost the weight...) AND continued to exercise - it just kept creeping back up until I was at 197 two years ago when - no matter HOW much I "dieted" or exercised, it literally would NOT BUDGE.

BUT that was when i learned I had Insulin Resistance...I did some research on it and understood the "basics" of what that meant - but all I could really understand was, "that was why I wasn't / couldn't lose weight" - and the doc kept saying "low carb, low carb, low carb" - but that went against EVERYTHING I'd ever known. Then finally I bit the bullet and listened to her this year. GOD how I wish I'd have listened to her LAST YEAR when she TOLD me to do this! lol

And - now that I actually completely understand the science behind why MY body takes so long to lose weigh - it's like I HAVE found that "magic pill" that I've been searching for.

But c'mon - Even if it takes me until who knows when to get back down to my 160 (i'm 5'8 btw, pretty muscular and at 160 i'm actually skinny)...I will be so happy because I can actually BELIEVE it's going to happen again!!!

NO I don't lose the weight like some people do on atkins - again, it's been 9 weeks (including induction of 3 weeks)...and i'm "only" down 12.5 pounds TOTAL - but with the way MY body works - I would have / could have been UP those 12.5 pounds had I never found atkins.

I can't say enough about how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this woe and I know that when I say "this will be the way I will eat for the REST of my life" - I know it will be. I've tried SOOO many other "diets" and ways of eating out there - but I've NEVER been more comfortable nor have I ever believed in anything as much as this. I even know, now, that - for me - ATKINS is the ONLY way to go and while Weight Watchers worked for that short period - THIS is what I need to do for my body to be at the right weight.

And while - again - I should change my name to TURTLE - what's fabulous is I get to eat the way I love to eat and LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!!

Sorry that was long and probably sounded like a broken record to things I've said before - but I just want to shout from the rooftops.
    I LOVE ATKINS!!!!

I will let my beautiful baby girl know that you said hi.

I just got home from grocery shopping and bought a tape measure while i was there because i have NO idea where the other one is!
I have to tell you though - she was such a good little girl when I was gone...we keep our pug, petey, penned up in our kitchen with a baby gate...the door in the kitchen leads out into our breezeway - and the breezeway into the garage as well as a door out to our fenced in patio...we have decided she will be, for the most part, an outside dog (we're gonna get her an awesome dog house and our side yard will be fenced in soon). And I'm so very proud of her - when i left i could hear her howling just a bit - but I left the screen door to the patio open just enough for her to go in and out and when i came home, she was as content as could be, laying on her huge doggy bed we bought her - yet, as usual, i could hear petey barking up a storm inside the house! lol.

I'm just so very excited to have her.

That's awesome. I know what you mean, I feel like I'm not dieting at all. This WOE rules! And I really love your attitude. There are some people who would be discouraged by 12.5 pounds. But you are owning it. It rocks that you're so proud of that, because you should be. Way to go, you're doing amazingly!
