Re: Would like some advice please...

Let me ask, then: theoretically, if a person gains a pound but loses an inch one week, she can still move up the carb ladder the following week?

I've got my mom on the plan now and want her to only have to do this ONCE!!!!

Well, it is also a personal decision. But if you are losing inches, then yes, it means you have not reached your CCLL. However, I would recommend staying more than 1 week on a rung, so that you have time to experiment with different foods and see how you react to them. Then you will also have more time to see some changes in weight/inches.

        Thanks!

I zigzagged up and down for years trying everything before stabilizing in the last year or so. I think that if mom were the have the same confusion I had she'd give up, and I want to show her that this can work for her. I truly think this is the best way for us to eat.

Re: Would like some advice please...

I was at a plateu for the longest....three weeks! But the key for me was exercising! When I started changing my eating habits and letting of the carbs, I started exercising about 30 minutes a day [dancing...reallly instensely though] and then I increased to one hour or twice a day, morning and evening when the plateau had me stumped.

I also STOPPED weighing myself constantly so that I would not be discouraged by the plateau! When I got on the scale three weeks later, I had lost another 5 pounds, so the plateau is over and I can continue on with health, low carb eating. I eat about 40 carbs only one day a week, and twenty the rest. I am still trying to stick to the induction mentality! It really is not difficult AT ALL for me, which is surprising because I used to love all kinds of carbs! You name it, I ate it!!!

Trust me...if I can lose, ANYBODY can. I have been trying to lose weight all my life!! I did the weight watchers, low fat, eatting once a day, eating only fruits and veggies; you name it, I did it!

But, the carbs are the problem for me!! I feel so great. I sleep all the way through the night now, I don't snore nearly as bad as I used to, and I have SOOOO much energy and I am never tired. The best thing in the world has been the low carb lifestyle that I have adopted and I am so grateful to the late Dr. Atkins for teaching the world about it!!

NO MATTER WHAT 1) Stick with the plan, and 2) Be honest about what you eat. Good luck!
