I have been on again and off again on Atkins for a very long time. I also do olympic weightlifting. Last weigh in, I weighted 89 kg. Not so tiny but I can lift tons and squat tons. Being a woman, I hate being that bulky, so against my coach, I have started Atkins again.
I never, ever weigh myself until competition. I use inches and how I feel instead. So far, after almost 2 weeks, I feel good. I have lost 3 inches on my tummy and almost that much on my hips. I wish I could say that it is hard to get into ketosis but for me, it is just a morning of cardio and an afternoon of lifting.
Saying that, it is not all that easy for me. I walk a thin line of not eating enough and losing strength or eating too much and staying fat. I'm a girl and hate going out to date a new guy and having him look at me and ask me what my goal weight is. What an insult. At that point, usually I ask him how much he can squat or imagine lifting him over my head.
I have always been concerned about flabby skin but so far, even though I am losing inches, my skin appears to be doing what it is suppose to be doing. It is firming up and some of its sags, aren't as saggy as they were two weeks ago. I am still encouraged. I worry about saggy skin but all the girls I know who have lost weight, haven't had much problem after a time with the excess skin. Has anyone else had much experience?
I get proper nutrient intake... drink water... exercise once or twice a day except on weekends... and get plenty of EFAs. I also take kelp too. My skin has always looked incredible, more so when i cut the processed carbs. Is there anything else I can add to help keep my skin healthy?
