In my younger years, I was prone to yeast infections (antiboitic, etc) Well nine days into my diet, and I start feeling those old familiar feelings, itchy everywhere, hands, eyes, other places..........Is this due to Atkins, cause all the changes going on in my body???? Can anyone shed some light, Thanks Donna

Re: Oh Great, A Yeast Infection!
Detox is NEVER fun. Take probiotics, for one. Make sure to not get ANY hidden sugars anywhere. Starve the buggers.
I used to have yeast issues that brought on hives whenvever I got the least bit warm.. rashes.. eyes swell shut. I know what you are going through. It will get better with ATkins, I feel sure.

Check out the thread on yeast sensitivity. It has some useful information.

Re: Oh Great, A Yeast Infection!
Dr. Atkins said it might happen due to eating more things like cheese, mushrooms, pickles, olives, salad dressings, which feed yeast. You will probably have to go through a couple of weeks of a yeast-free diet before you get rid of it.People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.

Re: Oh Great, A Yeast Infection!
Is this why it happened??? Yesterday, totally subconciously I had a cup of coffee with milk and sugar, like I did before Atkins. Halfway thru my cup I realized that I wasn't drinking decaf, cream and splenda. Would one little slip of the sugar cause the yeast problem??? Maybe? Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check out the yeast thread.

Re: Oh Great, A Yeast Infection!
I have major problems with yeast. The introduction of acidophilous has totally got rid of all the yeast infections and bloating that comes with it. I always thought something was wrong with me. It was obviously the flora in my body that was severely off kilter. I feel skinny all the time now except at menses.
