  • I screwed up...

Well damn. I have basically wasted the last few weeks by cheating and falling off the wagon after a relatively easy 9 weeks.

Oh well. Back at it now. I wish I had not screwed up, but I am not going to focus on where I could be, but refocus on where I want to get.

I am lighter than I have been in 4 years and all my old clothes fit again. I think there was a certain sense of accomplishment that came with that and made my weight loss seem less important. I lost my sense of urgency I guess.

I also started working out, which kills me because it actually makes me more hungry, crave bad food, and forces me to eat later due to my schedule. I am going to have to figure out a way to balance the more intense exercise regiment with my healthy eating habits I have formed.

Tomorrow I am going to have sausage and eggs for breakfast and a cheese and pepperoni "pizza" for lunch. Not sure what I am going to do for dinner. I am off tomorrow, so maybe I can find something new to try. Any induction friendly suggestions?

Jeremy, there is an Atkins Food and Recipes section on this board that has a gold mine of ideas. There is also Linda's Low Carb Recipes.

If you are hungry, you need to EAT. If you don't eat when you are hungry, you WILL succumb to easy junk food. Just stick to high fat protein foods.

I totally understand that "loss of urgency" and how that can screw things up for you. A little looser here, maybe a bite there, and before you know it you are back where you started---seriously! But you have the right attitude. Don't beat yourself up. Just start back in.

I lost 68 pounds on Atkins last time around and gained 18 back but have stayed steady for 3 years. For along time I felt like I had failed for gaining some back when I lost the urgency but the fact is I KEPT 50 OFF for three years. So now I am ready to start in again for another serious go. I may not make to to goal this time either but I would settle for another 50 and a chance for my body to adjust to that weight before moving on (onederland would be nice).

Just keep climbing back on the Atkins wagon each time and you will eventually be half the man you are today.

      (take 2)
      GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
      GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
      FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

Yeah, I think i was letting guilt make me feel worse about it all. It was actually not as bad as I made it sound. I still wish I had been faithful to the diet and I refuse to use the extenuating circumstances as an excuse, but I still ate smart instead of binging and still lost a pound.

The sense of urgency thing is a real issue for me, and now that I know about that tendency in myself I can watch for it and keep myself motivated.
