  • Whey Protein a no no?

Hi everyone! I've experienced a horrible stall (loosing only about 2-3 ibs in the last 5-6 weeks). I just read that Whey Protein should be avoided?!? I purchased, on clearance, a low carb chocolate whey power and have been adding a little bit of it to my coffee. Could this be a major contributer to my stall? I know some say not to drink coffee, but I'm having trouble with that. I am, though, getting my quota of water. Any thoughts?

If you've been humming along and the only thing you changed was the whey protein, chances are that's it. If you are working out and taking whey powder, you might just be retaining water. I went up about 5 pounds after starting a lifting program. I'm not taking protein or creatine, just lifting a lot. I went up 5 pounds the first week, and have been losing between a pound and a pound and a half each week since. I have been losing weight around my middle thoughout this gain though.

I have started working out--mostly cardio--but not religiously. I guess any change from sedentary is a jolt to the system. Maybe the combo of the two are effecting me. Either way, I'm just hanging in here and riding out the storm! THanks for your thoughts!
