Re: sugar content in mayo. a big concern ?
It is better to avoid foods that contain sugar, even if this sugar is in trace amounts as it happens in store-bought mayo or in some cold cuts (including bacon). What I have discovered is that store-bought mayo stalls me unless it's sugar-free.Originally posted by muzza View Posthi guys just a quick 1 . my mayonaise has 2.3 carbs per 100 grams and 2.2 sugars per 100 grams but on the ingredients it has added cane sugar is this still ok during induction ? i only manage about maybe 4 tablespoons a day . cheers from australia
Also, when you are counting your carbs, it's not the grams of sugar you should be careful about when reading the label, but the amount of net carbs -- net carbohydrate is what we are counting on Atkins. Some of the sugar listed on the label is naturally occurring in foods -- you only have to be cautious about added sugar (listed among the ingredients).
