I understand the from Dr. Atkins book that he say that when menstruating or about to, it may take weight loss longer to register? Does anyone have any comments or similar experiences?

Hiya
I'm actually in the middle of TOM now, and two days before and the first two days of actual TOM.. the scale didn't move (infact at one point it went up a pound), which was very frustrating as I was being so good.. then this morning I got on the scale and I had dropped 3 overnight.
Just keep plodding along.. and drink loads of water. It will happen.

I just wooshed off 5 pounds three days after aunt flo's visit. Before that I hadn't lost anything for a couple of weeksmeli

I started induction this time a day before TOM and still lost 9 lbs my first week, but yeah normally every other time i've done it when TOM comes around I either gain a few or stay firm and dont lose at all. but its alright just drink more water and it'll come off when TOM is gone.F/24/5'10"

Yes...willpower goes down. Hormones help you to crave a lot! Just don't give in!!! That's why people gain a lot on birth control! It's not the pill! It's that it gives you more cravings!!! So it's natural! Just stick to your guns. Usually I try to up the water to get rid of water retention. Midol helps with that too. Shock your body too but upping the exercise and you might have a huge whooshie after menstration. It's worth the weight!

This was always my downfall on this WOE. I couldn't get through PMS without totally derailing, and it would take ages to get back on the wagon. Now I just make sure I have legal food ready within arms reach. I keep cheese, boiled eggs, even pork rinds handy. And if I get a really bad craving, I make myself a hot chocolate with water, heavy cream, unsweetened cocoa powder and splenda. Trust me, it's not even good, but it's like, I just try to do anything to stay on track. Miss Phode...you are so right!!!
Not that I want to endorse addictions but I definitely have a shopping one!!! How about when you get a craving eat legal food or go buy a goal piece of clothing! Like one size down???? It's a great thing to do and it works towards it!! Sounds silly but today I went into American Eagle when I really wanted an ice cream and tried a bunch of clothes on and I just thought....fitting into these is just to worth it to give up!!!

It gives me more time to go to the gym, and less time to spend on clothes. I wear my clothes until they look absolutely rediculous on me. Then my husband forces me to go shopping because he's embarrased to be seen with me because I look "homeless".

I go up 4-5 pounds every month and am super hungry. After TOM I don't drop it all right away. It takes a few days to creep back down again.

oh my god i too hate when T.O.M comes around ! ive been doing so good!this week alone i lost 12 pds! and this morning to my surprise my monthly friend came and i was so upset because when i stepped on the scale i had gained two pounds!!! i was'nt too surprised but i worked so hard to lose those 12 pds this week that its just plain upseting ,but anyways that's just a part of life!hopefully T.O.M WILL GO AWAY AND I'LL LOSE THOSE TWO POUNDS AND MAYBE A COUPLE MORE ON TOP OF THAT,GOOD NIGHT LADIES.

In general this diet has helped me to not have cravings for sugar and uncontollable eating binges and my PMS has disappeared, however this last month, I couldn't stop eatting one day and I went way off the diet. I just feel better when following the plan.sigpicCeeMarie 267/236/180 (-31 lbs!)
