  • Ketosis.

    I am near the end of my 6th day on induction.

    Doing well, eating lots of meat, eggs, fish, cheese and veg.
    Following it well.

    About 3 litres of water a day


    Okay so I measured this today and I lost the instruction manual. I read the reading after 20 seconds. And took a shot.


    Does this mean I am burning fat?


    Height 5'9
    Start Weight - 206lb ( 30.4 ) - 13/03/09 (Obese)
    Goal Weight 1 - 196lb ( 28.9 ) - 03/04/09 (Overweight)
    Goal Weight 2 - 189lb ( 27.9 )
    Goal Weight 3 - 182lb ( 26.9 )
    Goal Weight 4 - 168lb ( 24.8 ) (Healthy)
    Goal Weight 5 - 161lb ( 23.8 )
    Goal Weight 6 - 154lb ( 22.7 )
    Goal Weight 7 - 150lb ( 22.1 )

    Quite likely it means you are burning fat. There are many ways for the Ketostix to give wrong advice, but I would say that you are in ketosis and are burning fat.

    You should pick a time of day and stick to it. If you test too soon after a fatty meal, the stix could be registering dietary fat and not body fat being burned. If you test right after exercise, you could show not being in ketosis because you have used your ketones up for energy and they have left your body in your breath and sweat instead of urine.
    People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
