  • i forbid myself to weigh everyday!!

    Man the scale can be your best friend and then your worst enemy.. grr. I am posting this to make a stand!! Stephani , Jump on the scale once a month!!ok. im done lol. My clothes fit better and thats what counts. not that you go down to 148 then back up to 150, 151, for no apparent reason.
    The scale did go down to 148.. and even though Tuesday it was up to 151, I decided it didnt count. Since it wasnt a full month since I weighed Last.

    It is so tempting not to weigh in everyday! that is what I have been doing and my weight seems to fluctuate 1-1.5 lbs each day. I think I will only weigh in once a week.

      LOL!!! I love the scale...it is my best friend! I try to weigh every single day, that way I know where I am and what I have to change. I'm not one to throw in the towel if the number moves a little...not at all. I could not live without my scale...I just need it...lol.

      I am having a problem though, the scale at home weighs me 10lbs more than the scale at the gym! This weekend I'm jumping on one in the store and buying new batteries...lol

        LOL.. well i havent found that "healthy balance".. Its more like a love/hate relationship.

          I am an avid daily weigher. I am addicted to weighing myself. My weight fluctuates wildly at given times of the week/month. I can easily see a 3 pound gain or loss in a 24 hour period. I have found that weighing myself daily has desensitized me to those little gains and losses. If I weigh myself and the weight is up and stays up for several days... then I know I have something to worry about.

              I'm a daily weigher too, and like 2BME, I've become desensitized to little fluctuations. I like to weigh every morning when I get up, because it keeps my determination flowing, and I also know more about what's going on with my body. I know I'm not going to gain, or lose, 5 lbs of fat overnight. But it keeps me on my toes, and I like that.
              If I stall for a few days, or even find myself at a gain, it motivates me to work harder to get it off.

                I weigh every morning because I'm still in induction and its exciting. The weight comes off quickly in induction and is a good motivator when you get cravings. When the quick losses taper off, I suspect the weighing will taper off also.
